The rector of the University of Carabobo (UC), Jessy Divo de Romero, said that the importance of reconciliation and the defense of the truth as pillars for the country's development is paramount.

In this regard, Divo called for national unification to maintain peace and for national defense, which is violated by threats of attack from North American imperialism, highlighting this as the only viable way to avoid major problems affecting Venezuela in general.

This was stated at the event led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, on the occasion of the installation of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, which brought together 434 guests from all strategic sectors of the country to reaffirm, in a unified manner, the defense of Venezuela's sovereignty and peace.

The rector stated that, on behalf of the university sector, she believes that the Council is a call to unity, where respect and tolerance must prevail for a nation with a deep democratic conscience.

He also stressed that through dialogue, Venezuela will be able to settle its differences with the world, but by generating it first, between Venezuelans.
