El president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, reiterated the Legislative Branch's support for President Nicolás Maduro Moros, in the face of new accusations from the Attorney General of the United States (USA), Pam Bondi.
En In that regard, the head of parliament read a statement issued, unanimously by the Legislative Branch , expressing support for the President.
Tras the assertion of the U.S. Attorney that the Venezuelan president is “one of the biggest drug traffickers in the world and a threat to our national security”, the parliament rejected “the absurd and desperate actions announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office, clearly illegal and without any real support other than the attempt at delusional aggression against the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and against our people rebellious and courageous”, reads the letter.
Asimismo, he himself warned that “these operations seek no other purpose than once again encouraging extremist groups in the country and the region to resume violence, which has been defeated across the board by our government and people.”
