Unanimously! AN supports decision of the Supreme Court that ratifies electoral results issued by the CNE

The Plenary of the National Assembly (AN) approved an Agreement in support of the final ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), which it issued this Thursday, August 22, through which it ratifies the results of the Presidential Election of July 28, issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

The Legislative Branch unanimously approved this Agreement in its extraordinary session, in which it states that the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice responds to the legal action that the “Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”, Nicolás Maduro Moros, went to the Supreme Court of Justice on July 31, 2024 and filed a Contentious Electoral Appeal before the Electoral Chamber, based on what is enshrined in the article 297 of the Constitution, and in view of its powers, it is committed to the verification of everything related to the presidential electoral process of July 28, 2024, as well as the results emanating from the National Electoral Council.”

Through the agreement, the AN urges the competent bodies of the Venezuelan State to determine responsibility for alleged crimes of usurpation of functions, computer crimes, criminal association, hate speech, and others.
