The National Experimental Polytechnic University of the Armed Forces (UNEFA), Falcón nucleus, closed the academic period II-2024 with the 13th Scientific Exhibition in which 30 projects demonstrated the intellectual production carried out by the house of study to support the country's development and provide solutions to practical everyday problems.

With 16 projects from the city of Coro, Miranda municipality and 14 from the city of Punto Fijo, Carirubana municipality, students from different university careers associated with social sciences and from different semesters showed their ingenuity, innovation and creativity, the Latest News portal reported.

The dean of the Falcón nucleus, Jesús Hurtado Gutiérrez, said that the areas of system engineering, telecommunications, naval engineering and petrochemistry stood out during the exhibition.

“This is a sample of the scientific production generated by our house of study with the purpose of promoting and promoting knowledge, in view of the national expofera that will be held in Caracas next March, in addition to becoming the flagship projects that will represent us at the territorial fairs held by the university,” he explained.

Hurtado also mentioned that among the most outstanding projects is the application of artificial intelligence for solid waste management and recycling, as well as protection systems for private and public properties against intruders.

For his part, the head of the Research, Development and Innovation area of Alma Mater, Daniel Chiquito, pointed out that in the exhibition of the Coro Nucleus held at the “Jesús Montilla” Library, the three best projects were recognized for their contribution.

In this case, the first place went to the “Manufacture of Artisanal Liquors based on Cují (Prosopis Juliflora), for the tourist promotion of the Historic Bar Garúa as a recreational space in the La Guinea sector”.

While the second place was occupied by the “Web Application for creating Chatbots as a Digital Marketing tool for the growth of small and medium-sized businesses”.

The “Pedal Aventura Falcón” project came in third place.

Among the most innovative works is that carried out by Harrison Bermúdez, a student of Systems Engineering, and Marian Rodríguez, a student of Petrochemistry.

Both developed a project called “Amber Wine”, which consists of obtaining wine from the fermentation of coffee beans.

“We had never seen coffee wine; we only found coffee liqueur or beers,” the students commented, highlighting the historical richness of coffee in Venezuela.

It is important to mention that UNEFA has laboratories equipped to support its students, and if necessary, to establish alliances with other universities and government bodies to promote research.

Hurtado mentioned that due to the celebration of Youth Day, they held the first university athletic festival with the purpose of promoting physical activity as an additional component to the integral development of students.

He said that the activity brought together more than 150 students who participated in tests of 60, 120 and 1000 meters away, ball throwing, long jump, 4×60 meter relay and mixed relay at the facilities of the Magglio Ordoñez Stadium in Coro.
