Engineering students from the Francisco de Miranda National Experimental University (UNEFM) together with technicians from the Cayapa Heroica National Plan developed a prototype of a corrector aimed at the progression of scoliotic curvatures and the improvement of posture.

According to a note from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), it will be presented by future professionals as part of the curriculum unit Socio-Technological Integration Project III.

In the same way, another group of students, with the support of specialists from the Cayapa Heroica National Plan, managed to design and manufacture prototypes of a shoe-like orthosis, designed for the treatment of droopy feet in pediatric patients.

The projects represent an academic achievement for UNEFM students and confirm that technological sovereignty is the essential way to guarantee the life, health and well-being of the Venezuelan people, by offering domestically manufactured solutions for common medical conditions.
