This Tuesday, the spokesman for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Kazem Abu Khalaf, stressed that the situation in Gaza “exceeds all limits” and that Israeli actions are seriously affecting the civilian population.

Israel's recent decision to end the work of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA) has had a negative impact on humanitarian operations in the region.

Khalaf said that UNRWA is critical to the humanitarian response in Gaza, and its closure could further aggravate the crisis.

Data on child health are alarming, one in five children in Gaza suffers from malnutrition, and many are in a state of excessive thinness as a result of food shortages.
