Unified Adverse Event Command activated after landslide on the Colonia Tovar-La Victoria de Aragua highway

The Unified Adverse Event Command was immediately activated in the Tovar municipality, after a landslide occurred on the Colonia Tovar-La Victoria national highway, specifically at the height of the La Mora sector, in Aragua, as a result of the conditions generated by the rains associated with the passage of tropical wave number 42.

Mayor Maximiliano Suárez reported that, once the situation was reported, response teams moved to the site to begin care work and ensure mobility through this important road artery, according to a press release from the regional government.

The Public Services crew is working in the area to enable a temporary passage, while coordinating the entry of heavy machinery to carry out the complete clearance of the material and restore traffic in its entirety.

Suárez pointed out that the deployment is not limited to the affected point, but that the teams continue to carry out risk management monitoring in different sectors of the municipality, with the purpose of identifying in a timely manner any situation that may arise as a result of rainfall.
