University of Health Sciences welcomes more than 900 new students in Mérida

More than 900 high school graduates from the state of Mérida have started their studies at the Hugo Chávez Frías University of Health Sciences.
Areas of study include integrative medicine, nursing, physical therapy, dentistry, biomedical engineering, bioanalysis, comprehensive community analysis, and occupational therapy.
In this regard, the Minister of University Education, Ricardo Sánchez, pointed out that this process marks the beginning of a phase of professional commitment to community service, while stressing that the training model is based on historical references in Venezuelan medicine and seeks to train professionals with a vocation for public service.
For his part, the director of the University of Health Sciences Hugo Chávez Frías Mérida nucleus, José Rafael Macadar, stressed that the inclusion of young people from the Andean state in these programs represents an advance in the territorial training policy promoted by national and regional governments.
Governor Arnaldo Sánchez said that the university is becoming a tool to strengthen the state's health system, training professionals who will serve the population.
