The Inter-Union Plenary of Workers — National Workers' Convention (PIT-CNT) denounced in Montevideo the U.S. operation of January 3 against Venezuela, stating that it constitutes a violation of international law and a factor of global destabilization.

During a press conference, PIT-CNT president, Marcelo Abdala, warned that force prevails over the rules that govern relations between States.

Accompanied by social organizations, Abdala invited popular sectors to express their rejection and to mobilize in defense of legality and life. In this context, he announced an activity convened by the Uruguayan Anti-Imperialist Committee for Solidarity with Cuba and the Peoples of the World, scheduled for this Thursday in the Aula Magna of the University of the Republic.

The meeting will bring together specialists in international law to analyze the aggression against Venezuela and the challenges it represents. Abdala affirmed that the collective response of peoples is essential to contain Washington's offensive and promote conditions that safeguard peace in Latin America.
