The United States made the decision to block the establishment of a humanitarian airlift between Iraq and Lebanon
According to information released by the national newspaper Al Akhbar, Washington requested that any humanitarian aid for those displaced and refugees due to the Israeli war be delivered through Jordan “for prior inspection”.
In addition, the United States also threatened sanctions against the Lebanese national airline, Middle East Airlines (MEA), if its planes were used to transport those injured in the Israeli terrorist operation
According to the newspaper, the U.S. Embassy in Beirut receives a “daily manifesto” from all passengers traveling through the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Rafic Hariri Airport.
Since the expansion of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon in mid-September, Iraq has become one of the main providers of humanitarian aid.
However, Israel's destruction of the main road connecting Lebanon and Syria hampered those efforts to support the country.
