The People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, held a fruitful telephone conversation this Friday with his counterpart from the Republic of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhenkov, in order to reaffirm the solid bilateral agenda and the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation that unite both revolutionary governments under the leadership of Nicolás Maduro Moros and Alexander Lukashenko respectively.

During the dialogue, mutual concern was especially addressed in the face of the increasing militarization and the war actions carried out by the United States Government in the Caribbean region. In this regard, Ryzhenkov expressed his nation's strong support and solidarity with Caracas, as well as his categorical rejection of illegal attempts to block and hinder the South American nation's oil trade.

Both diplomats agreed that these coercive and unilateral actions - aimed at subduing the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people and strip them of their strategic natural resources - constitute a flagrant violation of the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and of the right to free trade that guarantees peaceful navigation between peoples.

Finally, they ratified their unwavering commitment to the defense and validity of international law in all multilateral settings and praised the will to continue strengthening ties of cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of Venezuela and Belarus who established diplomatic relations on February 4, 1997.
