The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, met this Tuesday with the Belarusian ambassador to Venezuela, Dmitri Derevinski, to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, expressed his gratitude to the Belarusian Government for its firm rejection “of the hostile and illegal actions of the United States in the Caribbean, as well as its unwavering solidarity with Venezuelan sovereignty.”

Last August, President Maduro received Credential Letters from Ambassador Dzeravinski, with the objective of reaffirming the alliances established between the two nations, based on an active cooperation route for the next ten years, as well as a shared position on the new multipolar order.

In the past year, Caracas and Minsk have strengthened their cooperation agenda in areas such as food production, commerce, the petrochemical industry, as well as the reactivation of factories and heavy machinery and the possibility of exchange between businessmen from both countries in the field of metalworking and the electrical sector.

Both nations have focused their strategic objectives on promoting domestic production and encouraging exports, through the potential exploitation of sectors: transport, mining, industry, forestry, university, tourism, health, pharmaceuticals, housing, agriculture and Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
