A delegation from the Ministry of Water received 150 vital liquid purification devices from the Brazilian embassy in Venezuela, which will be installed in temporary camps for the population affected by the earthquakes of June 24 in La Guaira and Caracas.

The Brazilian ambassador to Venezuela, Glivânia Maria de Oliveira, stressed that the operation was carried out quickly, at the direction of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and stated that the Brazilian intervention was a response to the commitment to provide immediate assistance to communities affected by the emergency.

De Oliveira, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), specified that the team sent is composed of professionals specialized in disaster situations and stated: “We are sister peoples, friends, we have had our tragedies and now we are here to provide care for the Venezuelan people.”

The equipment works with solar energy and reinforces the State's capacity to guarantee drinking water in areas affected by earthquakes; its installation aims to prevent dehydration and the onset of common diseases in emergency situations.

The authorities have emphasized that the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, coordinates the reconstruction phase and the measures aimed at ensuring the well-being of affected families, and have specified that work continues actively in all sectors related to immediate assistance.
