At the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India (MEA), in New Delhi, the V Round of Political Consultations took place between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the South Asian nation, in a climate of profound dialogue and a shared vision for the future.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of Venezuela, Tatiana Pugh Moreno, and her Indian counterpart, the MEA's Secretary for East Asia, Periasamy Kumaran.

The Indian delegation was also made up of the Deputy Secretary and Undersecretary for South America, Kaghal Matha and Santanu Kumar Singh, respectively.

During the meeting, both delegations highlighted the emerging leadership of India and Venezuela in shaping a new multipolar world order, and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation from the perspective of the Global South.

In this regard, the parties reviewed strategic issues for bilateral cooperation, such as energy security, the use of renewable energy, the increase of binational trade, food security, training, science and technology, health and the pharmaceutical area, among others, with the commitment to promote the early holding of the joint commission between the two countries.

The delegations also exchanged views on the regional and international situation and agreed to coordinate closely in multilateral forums to promote the alliance between India and Venezuela.

The Venezuelan representation denounced the constant aggression of the US administration of Donald Trump against their nation, using false narratives as excuses.

In the same way, he highlighted the civic-military-police determination and unity led by President Nicolás Maduro Moros.

He also expressed his commitment to building a new multicentric and multipolar world, in which India plays an important role as an emerging power and a founding member of the BRICS.
