The Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Trade, Johann Álvarez, and the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy, Edoardo Rixi, held a strategic meeting in order to evaluate and relaunch bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

The central point of the meeting was the agreement to re-establish the direct air connection between Caracas and Rome, a measure that seeks to boost commercial exchange and facilitate the flow of passengers after a period of interruptions in transatlantic connectivity.

During the exchange, Venezuelan authorities highlighted the country's economic growth indicators and formally presented investment opportunities in critical sectors such as energy, tourism and infrastructure.

In this regard, they emphasized the potential of Special Economic Zones (SEZs), designed to offer attractive incentives to foreign capital that wishes to establish themselves in strategic points of the national territory for industrial and technological development.

For his part, Deputy Minister Rixi expressed the interest of the Italian administration in deepening ties with Venezuela, describing the country as a fundamental actor in the current complex geopolitical and energy scenario. This desire for rapprochement on the part of Italy translates into a search for stability in supply chains and in taking advantage of Venezuela's geographical position as a gateway to the markets of South America and the Caribbean.

The reactivation of direct flights not only represents a logistical advance, but is also perceived as the first step in a broader road map for the full normalization of commercial and consular relations.

With this agreement, both nations are committed to an alliance based on mutual benefit, where Italian technical experience in engineering and industry is combined with the vast natural resources and the renewed business climate that the Venezuelan government promotes internationally.
