Venezuela and other ALBA countries create an ecological agenda

The environmental ministers of the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) met to discuss the future of the habitat of the nations of the organization.

During the meeting, held during the 29th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP29), which took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, information was exchanged on the policies and actions implemented in each of the nations of the group, and the importance of reactivating the body to create an agenda of ecological action was emphasized.

The authorities, as reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), expressed their willingness to strengthen the exchange of experiences and strengthen the capacities of each country, addressing key aspects such as forest fire management, coral conservation, the promotion of sustainable tourism, the circular economy, the use and preservation of Amazonian seeds, and the creation and maintenance of protected areas.

In addition, the relevance of ancient medicine and the conservation of biological diversity, to face the multidimensional crisis affecting peoples, was discussed. This joint effort aims to strengthen the ALBA-TC in the fight against the environmental crisis and promote Latin American integration and sustainable development.

This meeting responds to the need to collaborate to share knowledge and experiences to find effective solutions. In addition to the above-mentioned issues, the ministers committed themselves to participating in the preparation and development of the next COP, to strengthen the presence of ALBA-TCP countries in international forums and to reaffirm their willingness to act together before the global community.
