Venezuela before the UN: The US will never achieve its goal of turning Cuba into a colony (+blockade)

The permanent representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Samuel Moncada, reiterated the support of the South American nation for the Draft Resolution condemning the blockade imposed by the United States (USA) against Cuba.

“The U.S. regime will never achieve its objective of turning Cuba into a colony, because the Cuban people are determined to exercise their right to self-determination, independence and national sovereignty,” Moncada said during his speech at the UN General Assembly.

The Venezuelan diplomat stressed that it is time to correct “this historical injustice and imperial delirium”, in reference to criminal U.S. measures against the island, and therefore urged that everyone support “the Cuban Government in its just claim.”

Moncada stressed that the extraterritorial nature of this policy not only impacts Cuba, but also all nations that maintain commercial relations with the country and called for a massive vote in favor of the condemning resolution at the UN.
