Faced with the new report published by the illegal
fact-finding mission, promoted by the extinct Lima Group, the
Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the
United Nations (UN) in Geneva described the document as a “novel pamphlet”.
In a statement, the Venezuelan diplomatic mission
stressed that this is “a fanciful script inherited from the late
Lima Group, and of the American regime that, despite its moral malfeasance in human
rights, intends to give lessons to the world about this institution.”
In addition, they highlight that “this mercenary mission has never set foot in
Venezuela, yet it has wasted more than 6 million dollars in
political propaganda in favor of the Venezuelan fascist right.”
The statement of the fact-finding mission,
which accuses the Bolivarian Government of alleged “crimes against humanity”,
comes just one day after the murder of 55 people in the Gaza Strip
by the Zionist regime of Israel, which already has more than 42,000 victims of the genocide against
the Palestinian people.
Below is the full text of the Venezuelan statement:
The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela to UN-Geneva strongly rejects the pamphlet published for
the shameful fact-finding mission, because it is a
novel document, a fanciful script inherited from the late Lima Group, and of the
American regime, which, despite its moral abuse in human rights, seeks to teach the world about this institution.
This mercenary mission has never set foot in Venezuela, yet it
has wasted more than 6 million dollars in political propaganda in favor of
the Venezuelan fascist right.
The existence of this irritating mission is a sign of the
kidnapping of the Human Rights Council by a small group of
Western countries that intend to lead it to suffer the same fate as its
predecessor, the failed Human Rights Commission. As if that weren't enough, his invalid
mandate comes from a resolution that obtained more votes against and abstentions
than votes in favor
Not only does the mission have no impact on human rights cooperation with Venezuela, but the pseudo methodology and sources it employs are
widely questionable because of their lack of rigor when taken as certain
stories from social networks and long-line communication media.
The Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela to UN-Geneva will continue to work under a solid
commitment to Human Rights and reiterates its rejection of any attempt to impose
mandates on countries without their consent.
