The Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, sent a message to greet and recognize the inauguration of the Latin American Film Market Festival in Havana, Cuba, which is positioned until December 11 as an important strategic meeting for the creation, circulation and projection of regional cinema.
“This is a call that I already
declare successful. I am truly impressed by the programming and I am
sure that our Venezuelan brothers who participate there, led
by the Deputy Minister of Audiovisual Culture, Sergio Arria, a group of
filmmakers and officials, will take full advantage of elevating our
films based on this call,” he said.
He also reflected on the
contemporary challenges of cinema, especially those linked to
artificial intelligence, cultural geopolitics and the tensions that the region is going through.
“The aesthetic, industrial and economic challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence are always appropriate to discuss them, address them and find concrete alliances for the audiovisual production of our countries at this specific time of today,” he said.
