‎A Through an official statement, the Republic of Venezuela celebrates the Bicentenary of the founding of Bolivia.

‎La missive highlighted the resistance and struggle of the Altiplano Nation to consolidate and preserve its independence.

The following is the full text of the statement:

‎La Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela extends its warmest greetings to the government and heroic people of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, as the Bicentenary of its founding as a free and sovereign Republic is commemorated, as an eternal tribute to the glory of the heroes and heroines of Junín, when the Deliberative Assembly of Chuquisaca proclaimed the independence of Upper Peru and gave rise to the Republic of Bolivar.

‎Este founding act was the fruit of the unwavering courage of the original peoples, of courageous women and men who rose up against colonialism. It was also the work of the military genius of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, who gloriously consolidated the freedom of that noble land. Bolivia was born out of a popular and emancipatory feat, as a living expression of Bolivar's civilization project.

‎Bolivia not only inherited the name of the Liberator, but also his ideas, embodied in a visionary Constitution that included a Moral Power, under the principle that good government is what does good and cannot do evil. This proposal, ahead of its time, remains a guide for peoples fighting for their liberation.

‎Bolivia has been an example of resistance, dignity and rebellion. From Túpac Katari and Bartolina Sisa to Juana Azurduy, from the spirit of the Ayllus to peasant and indigenous struggles, building their destiny from the hands of a conscious and sovereign people.

‎Desde the land of El Libertador, Venezuela celebrates this glorious moment in its history together with Bolivia and reaffirms its commitment to the unity of our peoples and to the libertarian ideals that unite us.
