Venezuela congratulates Indonesia on the 80th anniversary of its independence and reaffirms ties of friendship

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulates the People and Government of Indonesia on the 80th anniversary of its independence, stressing the courage and unity that marked their struggle for freedom and self-determination as a historical example and continues to be a source of inspiration for peoples who defend sovereignty and justice.

The statement was published by the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel in which the document states that Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Indonesia, based on solidarity, anti-colonialism and cooperation, for the sake of building a more just and multipolar world.

On behalf of the people and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, we extend our sincerest and warmest congratulations to the people and Government of the Republic of Indonesia, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Independence Day.

On this momentous date, we evoke with respect and admiration the firmness and spirit of unity of the Indonesian people, who with courage and hope conquered their inalienable right to freedom and self-determination. Such an example, deeply rooted in universal history, inspires all nations that believe in the sovereignty, justice and dignity of peoples.

As we commemorate this date, we extend a fraternal embrace to the Indonesian people, convinced that the ideals of freedom and unity that forged their Independence continue to illuminate the path of future generations.

From the Homeland of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, we reiterate our commitment to continue strengthening bilateral ties based on values such as the defense of sovereignty, anti-colonialism, solidarity and cooperation that have marked the historic and friendly ties between both nations, for the construction of a more just, multipolar and prosperous world.
