The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, led this Saturday a high-level working group with researchers and scientific authorities in the country, to evaluate advances in biotechnology and its critical applications in the health and agriculture sectors.

Through her social networks, Minister Jiménez highlighted that these efforts are closely linked to the training of the replacement generation at the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán.

“Today we review the projects being developed in biotechnology at the IVIC, CODECYT and Agrobiotechs, for the participation of students from the National University of Sciences (Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán), where technical leadership and proposals that provide real solutions for technological innovation for national productive spaces converge,” he explained.

The official of the Bolivarian Government stressed that biotechnology constitutes a permanent agenda within the Great Mission of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, to reaffirm the State's commitment to the scientific vanguard.

Jiménez highlighted the need for knowledge to transcend laboratories to transform economic reality.
“Venezuelan science must contribute to the diversification of the productive capacities of communal circuits, of the national industry by adding academia and research centers,” he remarked.
