Venezuela participated in the third edition of the Gastronomic and Cultural Festival of Latin America and the Caribbean held in Bern, capital of Switzerland, where it presented its gastronomic variety, in order to serve as a platform for cultural exchange and to show the culinary diversity of the region.

The event was inaugurated over the weekend with the assistance of the Deputy Mayor of Bern, Alex Von Graffenried; and on behalf of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the first secretary and head of the Consular Section, Rachel Trujillo Perdomo, was present.

“Cultural exchange is better than a war over customs barriers, it enriches knowledge and seeks to eradicate xenophobia,” Graffenried said at the opening ceremony.

He also thanked Latin American and Caribbean countries with accredited diplomatic missions in the European country in order to promote interculturality.

During this fair, Venezuela showed its gastronomic culture at its stand with the venture “The Andes Open” by José Avero, who tasted the attendees with the flavors that are part of the Venezuelan cultural heritage.
