Venezuela expresses willingness to collaborate with Trinidad and Tobago after oil spill off its coast

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, expressed, through his account on the social network X, Venezuela's commitment to cooperate with the government of Trinidad and Tobago after the oil spill that occurred on its shores.

“Following instructions from President @NicolasMaduro, we have been following up the situation generated by the oil spill that occurred in waters off Trinidad and Tobago on February 7th. Meetings have been held at the technical level with our neighbors to evaluate the necessary impacts and mitigation measures, and we are at the disposal of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to cooperate in whatever is required,” Gil wrote on the social network.

According to information from international media, last Wednesday, February 7, the ship “Gulfstream, 300 feet long, was found capsized about 200 meters off the coast of Cove Eco Industrial Park, Tobago, with a leak of a substance similar to oil”.
