Venezuela goes to the final of the U17 Pan American Volleyball Cup

Venezuela defeated the United States 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 26-24) to advance to the final of the Men's U-17 Pan-American Volleyball Cup, which is being held at the Multisport Dome in Guatemala City.
The Venezuelan national team managed to stay ahead in the decisive moments of the match and relied on a solid defense to contain an American team that fought to the last point.
In group statistics, the United States dominated the attack 40-38, while Venezuela was superior in the 7-6 blockade. In the service, both teams scored only one ace. The United States committed 30 unforced errors, compared to 21 in Venezuela.
Alejandro Rondón, from Venezuela, was the top scorer of the match with 12 points. Miguel Echarre and Josué García also reached double digits, both with 10 points. For the United States, Gabriele Desiderio and Nikodem Opiola scored 10 points each.
Marín Pérez, coach of Venezuela, expressed his joy and satisfaction at the victory: “It's very satisfying to have won this way against a team as good as the United States. The boys played an excellent game, with a lot of determination and a positive attitude, which was what gave us the victory.”
Venezuela will play the final this Sunday at 4:00pm against Canada, while the United States is playing for the bronze medal against Mexico.
