The collaboration between the Argentine Producers Association (APA) and the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology allows for exponential improvements in agricultural production in Venezuela, said the president of APA, Patricio Passet.
During his participation in the Al Aire program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, he highlighted his intention to be able to export from Venezuela to the largest markets in the world, such as China or India.
“We are working on that with the Ministry of Science and Technology, with Minister Gabriela Jiménez,” he said.
Passet highlighted the potential of this interorganizational exchange, which include tests of new agricultural hybrids and crops. “Trial and error until we get what the producer needs,” he said.
Regarding the agro-producer, he argued that this figure in the Venezuelan economy “is the one who has to earn the most.”
He warned that “something also ends up happening to us, that the industry is very strong and the agro-producer is very weak”.
“The companies that come with us are not only commercially viable, but they come and invest here, it's not just selling the product, it's a commercial issue, local technological development,” he explained.
In this regard, he stressed that “we are trying to make a landing in horticulture and floriculture, we arrived at what is soybean, corn, rice, we convince other companies that are dedicated to these areas to come with us to accompany us”.
Passet also celebrated the agricultural potential of the Venezuelan territory, “because the technical capacity of the people and the climate you have are blessed by God.”
Among the specific territories with the greatest agricultural development, he mentioned the states Portuguesa, Guárico and Monagas for their advances in soybeans and Guárico in corn. “We are working on something important on rice, hopefully we can pronounce it in the coming months,” he added.
He reiterated that by accelerating agricultural development in Venezuela, he intends to “export from here to the largest markets in the world, such as China or India. The investor has to be excited to want to invest next year.”
