Venezuela is the home of the America's Cup of Baseball that will serve as a qualifier for 2 competitions

Venezuela will host the first edition of the 2025 Copa América Baseball, an event that will mark the start of the Olympic cycle heading to Los Angeles 2028.

This cup will serve as a qualifier for the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games and the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.

The information was released during a press conference held at the Monumental Simón Bolívar stadium, attended by the Deputy Minister of Massification of the Ministry of Sports, Juan Amarante; the governor of the state of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán; the president of WBSC Americas, Aracelis León; as well as international managers Juan Linares and Oscar Izaguirre, members of the Pan American Baseball Confederation.

The competition will have as its main venues the Jorge Luis García Carneiro stadiums (La Guaira) and the Monumental Simon Bolivar (Caracas), and will bring together the six best countries on the continent, including Mexico (2nd in the ranking of the Americas), Venezuela (3rd) and the Dominican Republic (6th).

The president of the Pan American Baseball Confederation, Aracelis León, highlighted the importance of this tournament for national sports: “The construction of Venezuela's Olympic path is beginning and we are continuing with that historic goal of making our country number one in the world,” she said.

For his part, Governor José Alejandro Terán expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in Venezuela as headquarters.

In addition, Terán stressed that the event is part of a high-level sports agenda: “This will also be a model for what is coming in February 2026, the Caribbean Series.”

The organizing committee reported that adjustments are currently being made to the calendar, which is currently scheduled to start on November 13 to 22.

Group A will compete in Venezuela and is made up of: Brazil, Colombia, Curaçao, Dominicana and Panama, in addition to the local team.

For its part, group B is made up of Canada, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and the United States and will be measured in Panama, where the final round will also be played.
