Social and community organizations mobilized in Caracas to express their support and respect for Palestinian rights and the end of Israel's military actions.
One of the participants, Ingrid Torrealba, spokeswoman for the Antímano community, noted that the conflict has lasted more than seven decades. “These people are fighting for their territory, which was taken by Israel more than 70 years ago, and I believe that international organizations must put an end to this,” he said.
The call to international attention was reiterated by other participants, who emphasized the need to maintain an active complaint. “It will never be enough to speak out against this genocide, which is visible to all and which today, more than ever, must be confronted,” said Omar Suárez, resident of the Sucre parish.
Participants also questioned the role of Israeli leaders in the escalation of the conflict. “Prayers are not enough to end the conflict. Killing innocent people on a daily basis is unacceptable. Israel has become a diabolical entity whose Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested,” said Jesús Villarroel, representative of the Supreme Commander Commune of the parish of Santa Rosalía.
The demonstrators emphasized that US military funding contributed to the prolongation of the conflict. “We all know that the United States is to blame, funding weapons for Israel because Americans see war as a business. They should stop this first, especially the UN,” said John Cárdenas de Macaro.
