Venezuela mourns the death of former President Jimmy Carter

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of the government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, mourned the death of former President of the United States of America, Jimmy Carter.
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela mourns the death of the former president of the United States of America, Jimmy Carter, and extends its sincerest condolences to his family and relatives,” says the official document released by the Venezuelan foreign minister.
He added that former President Carter was a man who demonstrated an unwavering commitment to peace and dialogue, as evidenced by his ties of friendship with the presidents of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro.
“His vision and dedication to democracy at a delicate time for Venezuela helped to dismantle the destabilizing attempts and intolerance of the extreme right and the coup, which is why Venezuela will remember him with gratitude,” said the Statement.
The Venezuelan Government stressed that, at a time when the world is facing a crisis of global leadership, the memory of Jimmy Carter should serve as a reminder that the values of peace, democracy, free self-determination of peoples and justice must always prevail. His contributions to global politics and his dedication to peace have left an indelible mark on the world.
