Venezuela participates in the 7th Assembly of the International Solar Alliance in India

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) held its 7th Assembly at the Bharat Mandapam International Convention Center, in New Delhi, capital of the Republic of India, with the participation of a Venezuelan delegation, led by the Deputy Minister for Sector Development and the Electricity Industry of the Ministry of People's Power for Electric Energy, Carlos Alfredo González.
The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to India, Capaya Rodríguez G., accompanied the Deputy Minister during the important sessions of the multilateral organization, which is aimed at greater deployment of solar energy technologies as a means to provide access to energy, guarantee energy security and promote the transition of member countries, developing and implementing cost-effective and transformative solutions, driven by the sun and low in carbon.
Deputy Minister González spoke twice during the Assembly, recognizing the important role played by the ISA in promoting solar energy around the world, helping governments to develop policies favorable to solar energy, through analysis and advice on its ease of use and implementing cooperation programs in areas such as the expansion of solar applications for agricultural use, financing affordable on a large scale, the increase of mini solar grids, the expansion of solar roofs, electric mobility and storage, solar parks, solarized heating and cooling systems, waste management and photovoltaic solar batteries and the generation of solar energy for green hydrogen.
The senior official, accompanied by the Head of the Venezuelan Diplomatic Mission in New Delhi, also held a fruitful meeting with the Deputy General Manager of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Tapas Mazumdar, and a group of officials from that company, as well as the International Solar Alliance, responsible for the planning and feasibility studies of the 2000 megawatt photovoltaic projects proposed by the government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros for execution in the states of Zulia, Falcón and Lara, a priority objective that will be addressed by both parties in a videoconference to be held soon, with a view to its effective implementation in the immediate future.
The schedule of activities of the 7th ISA Assembly also included an interesting field visit to a 1-megawatt agrivoltaic farm located in the town of Najafgarh, on the outskirts of New Delhi.
