The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in the inauguration of the World Food Forum of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which is being held at the entity's headquarters in Rome, from October 14 to 18, in the context of the commemoration of World Food Day on the 16th of this month.
The Venezuelan delegation will reaffirm the self-determination and sovereignty of the nation at the Forum, in addition to highlighting the achievements achieved despite the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed against the country, through the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, guided by President Nicolás Maduro.
In addition, the national representation will share scientific advances and innovations in the design, production and distribution of foods with high nutritional value, based on sovereign items and will highlight the advances of the Agrifood System, which integrates the role of women, young people and the ancestral knowledge of indigenous peoples in the production process, ensuring their active and respectful participation in decision-making about the future of a diet that respects Pachamama.
Venezuela is presenting itself with a firm proposal in defense of its sovereign food model and its advances in food and nutrition security, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry.
