The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirmed its commitment to international cooperation in the field of security during its participation in the XIII International Meeting of Senior Officials Responsible for Security Affairs, held at the Russian National Center, from May 27 to 29. On behalf of the South American country, Major General José Adelino Ornelas Ferreira, Secretary General of the National Defense Council (SECODENA), attended this important meeting, where he shared space with prominent officials and leaders from more than 140 countries and organizations around the world. The event was attended by Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, and was an opportunity to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Caracas and Moscow. The MG. Ornelas Ferreira participated in the official photo of the event, together with international representatives, in an event that symbolizes the solid relationship between Venezuela and Russia. The participation of the senior Venezuelan official was accompanied by the Venezuelan ambassador to Russia, Jesús Salazar Velásquez, who promoted Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy during this important activity. Venezuela's participation in this meeting reaffirms the deep friendship and close diplomatic ties between the two countries, recently consolidated with the visit of President Nicolás Maduro to Russia, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Red Army in the Great Patriotic War, holding a meeting with his counterpart Vladimir Putin, in which a strategic alliance was signed that further strengthens bilateral relations and joint efforts in various fields, including security, economic cooperation and international collaboration.
