Venezuela qualifies for its seventh women's baseball World Cup

The Venezuelan women's baseball team secured their qualification to the seventh consecutive World Cup by finishing second in the qualifier in Tainan, China Taipei, with a record of 4-1, after beating the Philippines 10-0 and Cuba 5-2.

The tournament will be held from July 19 to 27, 2027 in Rockford, Illinois, United States, according to the Ministry of People's Power for Sports.

The Venezuelan performance against the Philippines, Abril Amaro threw five full innings, allowed four hits, awarded a ticket and prescribed four strikeouts. The offense produced ten runs from the first inning, with doubles from Srishna Arciniega and Mariana Natera, and drivers from Marlyn Yéndez, Stephany Suárez and Victoria Heredia, to seal the victory by knockout.

Against Cuba, Venezuelan Frandelis García took the victory with two innings, while María Marcano and Marlyn Yéndez completed the relay. Venezuela scored three runs in the first act with singles from Arciniega, Gabriela García and Natera, and took advantage of defensive errors to add two more. The Venezuelan team came second behind Japan (5-0) and ahead of Chinese Taipei (2-2).

Venezuela has been present in every edition since 2010 and its best result was bronze in South Korea 2016. At the 2027 event, he will share a group with the United States, Canada and Australia.
