A new flight from the Federative Republic of Brazil arrived this Monday at “Simon Bolivar” International Airport, in La Guaira, with 40 tons of medicines, as part of the international humanitarian aid that Venezuela receives after the double earthquake of last June 24.

The cargo was received by the Deputy Minister of Ambulatory Health Care Networks of the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, Noly Fernández, together with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Andrea Corao, and Ambassador Ramón Gordils.

Fernández explained that these drugs will be intended for the care of victims who are mainly in temporary camps.

He stressed that “this is not the first shipment of medicines and surgical medical supplies that the Government of Brazil has lovingly sent us during this entire situation in the country.”

In that regard, he thanked the people and Government of Brazil for this help, which is “basic for the health network, both outpatient and hospital”.

The Deputy Minister added that in order to advance in the area of environmental health, “we are also receiving 50 water purification plants, important for guaranteeing access to vital liquid,” while reiterating to the Venezuelan people that they have the support of the entire public health system.
