Venezuela recognizes Xiomara Castro's successful administration as president of CELAC

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, congratulated the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, on behalf of the Government of Venezuela, for the successful administration of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), underpinning the principles of peace, integration and sovereignty among the countries of the region.

“We want to express our sincere thanks to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Enrique Reina, for his warm welcome in Tegucigalpa. In a few days, we will be celebrating the 9th CELAC Summit, an event that represents a new milestone in Latin American unity. We take this opportunity to congratulate, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, President Xiomara Castro for her outstanding administration as pro tempore president of CELAC, who has raised our principles of peace, integration and sovereignty,” wrote the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, in her account on the social network Telegram.
