Venezuela rejects threats from the US: Every aggressive statement confirms the incapacity of imperialism

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, headed by President Nicolás Maduro, rejected this Tuesday the new threats and defamations by the United States (USA) against the country, which jeopardize stability and peace in the region.

In a statement, released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil on his social networks, the Bolivarian Government noted that, “while Washington threatens, Venezuela is steadily moving forward in peace and sovereignty, demonstrating that true effectiveness against crime is achieved by respecting the independence of peoples (...) Every aggressive declaration confirms the incapacity of imperialism to subdue a free and sovereign people.”

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela clearly observes the desperation of the U.S. administration, which resorts to threats and defamation against our country. The fact that Washington accuses Venezuela of drug trafficking reveals its lack of credibility and the failure of its policies in the region.

Since the expulsion of the DEA from our territory in 2005, Venezuela has achieved decisive results in the fight against organized crime: successful captures, dismantling of networks and effective control of borders and coasts, the result of the efforts and commitment of our institutions and the Venezuelan people.

These threats not only affect Venezuela, but they also jeopardize the peace and stability of the entire region, including the Zone of Peace declared by CELAC, a space that promotes sovereignty and cooperation among Latin American peoples.

While Washington is threatening, Venezuela is making firm progress in peace and sovereignty, demonstrating that true effectiveness against crime is achieved by respecting the independence of peoples.

Every aggressive statement confirms the incapacity of imperialism to subdue a free and sovereign people .

The people of Bolivar and Chávez will continue to defeat any attempt at intervention. Venezuela is a beacon of dignity, resistance and security for Latin America and the world.
