The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support in the face of the aggressions that the United States (USA) is trying to reissue against the South American nation.

Through his social networks, Gil praised the solidarity response of the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baqaei, “to the recent and regrettable interference of the United States, which seeks to repeat failed strategies of the past.”

The Bolivarian Foreign Minister stressed that “Iran and Venezuela will continue to be united in their fight for a world based on peace and justice”.

The Iranian diplomat said that the Persian nation “considers any foreign intervention in the internal affairs of Venezuela as contrary to international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, and a blow to the country's security and stability.”

In this regard, he condemned “the illegal interventions of the United States and some of its allies in the internal affairs of Venezuela, which are reminiscent of the malicious and divisive interventions of 2019 through the recognition of a parallel government.”

Finally, Iran expressed its support for the elected and legitimate president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, “and we appreciate the efforts of the government and the people of Venezuela to overcome the problems caused by illegal sanctions and unjustified and inhumane pressures from the United States.”
