Venezuela thanks the Mexican government for support for dialogue, peace and respect for sovereignty

The government of Venezuela thanked the statements and concepts issued by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, in support of peace in the Caribbean, by the United States government.

“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we express our appreciation to the statements made by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, in support of dialogue, peace and respect for the principle of non-intervention, as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. Venezuela reaffirms its firm commitment to protect the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, as well as to safeguard our national sovereignty and our legitimate right to defense and self-determination. We also advocate respect for safe trade and navigation channels for all nations,” wrote Foreign Minister Yván Gil.
