La was published by Foreign Minister Yván Gil , on his Telegram channel, and maintains that “true peace can only be achieved through the application of international justice, which involves the investigation and prosecution of war criminals and human rights violators responsible for crimes committed against the Palestinian people”.
A below, full text of the statement:
La Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, given the progress made in the negotiations between the Political-Military Resistance Organization Hamas, the Palestinian authorities and the government of the Zionist entity calling itself Israel, as a result of international pressure and the mobilization of the peoples of the world, who have reaffirmed that the Palestinian cause is a cause of all humanity, establish their position with respect to this process.
Venezuela recalls that this agreement comes after the almost total destruction of the Gaza Strip, where more than 65,000 people, mostly girls, boys, women and defenceless civilians, were killed by criminal bombings by the Zionist occupying forces, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
La Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela stresses that international popular mobilization, together with global political and diplomatic pressure, including that of Arab and Muslim States and peoples of the world, have been decisive in opening this process, and affirms that such mobilization must continue until the mandates of international legality are fully fulfilled, in particular the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, which demand the withdrawal of occupying forces from the territories invaded in 1967 and the creation of the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Venezuela argues that true peace can only be achieved through the application of international justice, which involves the investigation and prosecution of war criminals and human rights violators responsible for crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
Finalmente, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the heroic Palestinian people and its commitment to continue to accompany, in all international forums, the fight for a just, lasting peace based on sovereignty, dignity and truth.
