Venezuela will present a preliminary draft for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities to UNESCO

Venezuela will submit to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the preliminary draft Strategy for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities.

This initiative was taken after UNESCO recognized and approved the Venezuelan initiative to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in education, science, culture and technology.

The initiative should be presented in October, on the occasion of the 222nd meeting of the Executive Council as a preamble to the 43rd session of the General Conference of the Organization to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The information was released by the Venezuelan ambassador to the organization, Rodulfo Pérez, through his X account, in which he stressed that all delegations approved the approach with the exception of the United States.

The Venezuelan delegation reviewed the work carried out since 2022 to promote initiatives at UNESCO related to the inclusion of people with disabilities.
