Venezuelan documentary Chávez+Pueblo was awarded at the Resistance Film Festival in Iran

The Venezuelan documentary Chávez+Pueblo: Against All Odds After For Now”, by filmmaker Liliane Blaser, was awarded the Certificate of Honor at the International Resistance Film Festival, held in Tehran, capital of Iran.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, Blaser's directed work highlights the political and social legacy of the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, and explores his link with the people and the challenges faced in his career.

The documentary is a series that covers the trip taken by Commander Chávez after his release from Yare prison. This first episode of the series shows Chávez's encounters and agreements with the indigenous people for inclusion in the 1999 Constitution, as well as all his search for a participatory and leading democracy.

The production was carried out by the COTRAIN team, made up of leading film and research professionals. Blaser took over the direction, script and production, accompanied by Lucía Lamanna (camera and image, editing advice), José García (editing, camera and sound) and José Miguel Jaimes (camera, sound and editing assistance). In addition, he had research support from Lucas Koerner and Ana Maneiro.

The International Resistance Film Festival is an event recognized for its commitment to representing social and political struggles at a global level. In this edition, the festival brought together filmmakers from different parts of the world with proposals that address resistance as a tool for transformation and justice.
