Venezuelan fencers rank among the eighth best in America

Venezuelan fencers Valeria Escobar and Ángel Martínez managed to position themselves among the eight best cadets in the Pan-American Fencing Championship in Asunción, as a result of their outstanding participation in the cadet category.

The swordsman Escobar advanced to the table of 16 after beating the Brazilian Yasmin Barros, to advance to the round of 16, where she faced another Brazilian, Pietra Brazolin, and was established as the fifth best of this weapon. In this same category, fencer Andrea Ortega was 26th in the ranking of the contest.

For his part, in the male cadet foil gun, the Venezuelan Ángel Martínez placed on the board of 8 and won the seventh final position.

Venezuelan Alexander Da Silva showed his technique and skill to advance to the ninth best of the sport. Finally, to close the Venezuelan participation, the shooter David Salazar ranked ninth in the men's cadet sabre category, remaining in the table of 16, according to the sports press.
