The Venezuelan men's fencing team won an Olympic diploma in Paris 2024, after taking seventh place, after beating Egypt 41-35 in the sword specialty.
In this way, the male sword formed by Gabriel Lugo and the brothers Rubén, Jesús and Francisco Limardo, fell in the quarterfinals against the representation of Japan with a score of 39 to 32.
This represents the third Olympic Diploma for Rubén and Francisco Limardo. The first for Grabiel Lugo and Jesús Limardo.
Rubén Limardo is the first Venezuelan to participate in five consecutive Olympic Games and in the company of Francisco and Jesús, they became the first trio of brothers to compete in the Olympic Games for Venezuela.
