Venezuelan poultry sector estimates producing 1.5 million tons of chicken in three years

The Venezuelan poultry sector expects to exceed 1.5 million tons of chicken meat in the next three years, said the president of the Venezuelan National Poultry Federation (FENAVI), Francisco Tagliapietra.

The projection envisages that the sector will move towards the export of chicken, for which it is working on adjustments required by international marketing standards.

Tagliapietra, in statements collected by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) explained that among these requirements is product packaging, because in other markets boxes are classified according to the weight and quantity of units, while in Venezuela bags and baskets are still used.

On the other hand, he argued that Venezuelan facilities for the production of chicken meat have first-rate conditions, compared to those existing in Brazil, the United States and European countries.

The union representative stated that the domestic market is fully supplied with poultry products and noted that he does not consider imports of finished products necessary.
