Venezuelan state congratulates Sudan on the 70th anniversary of its independence

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the People and the national Government, congratulates the Republic of the Sudan for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of its National Independence, the date on which the Sudanese People, through their Parliament, unanimously expressed their wishes for independence and self-determination of the occupying powers of their territory.

The People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, during a telephone conversation with his Sudanese counterpart, Salim Ahmed Ibrahim.

“On this occasion, President Nicolás Maduro sent his congratulations to the Sudanese people and their Government on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of their independence, which is celebrated on January 1,” said the Venezuelan foreign minister.

In addition, Minister Gil addressed the aggression facing Venezuela, which includes the acts of piracy perpetrated by the United States in the Caribbean to seize Venezuelan oil.

“We reiterate our joint position in rejection of these violations of international law and the principles of sovereignty and self-determination of all countries,” Gil said.

“We hope that in 2026 the stability and peace of Sudan will be consolidated for a prosperous and sovereign future,” he concluded.
