As part of policies aimed at strengthening food security, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led this Saturday the reopening of a store of the Venezuelan Food Producer and Distributor Network (PDVAL) in the parish of San José de Cotiza, Caracas, reaffirming the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to access locally produced food at affordable prices.
“We are pleased to know that both PDVAL and the communal market are joining the CLAP program, the open-air markets, the plan for proteins, legumes and, most importantly, domestic production. Everything here is a domestic product,” he said,
The vice-president emphasized that the population's growing consumption of food generates greater demand from the domestic industry, allowing for progress towards a stronger and more sovereign economy. “Ensuring food security means ensuring food sovereignty. Faced with those who threaten and attack our homeland, this is the response of the Venezuelan people: a national productive union, together with the public and private sectors,” he said.
During the visit, Rodríguez noted that the prices offered by PDVAL are more affordable than those in the private market. “Ensuring food security means ensuring food sovereignty. Faced with those who threaten and attack our homeland, this is the response of the Venezuelan people: a national productive union, together with the public and private sectors,” he said.
Rodríguez also highlighted the work of Farmapatria in the distribution of affordable medicines, within the social protection network established by the National Executive.
