This Thursday, August 22, the sectoral vice-president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, emphasized that democracy and the institutions of the Venezuelan State have been strengthened, following the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) on the electoral dispute.
“Our democracy is formalized and
our institutions are strengthened, and they are also in accordance with
what is happening today on the street, a spirit of peace, a spirit of
normality and a desire that Venezuelans have for harmony and political
resolution,” he said from the headquarters of the Supreme Court in Caracas.
He also stressed that the contentious process
has been a public, notorious and transparent process, which was informed by
all means, which confirms that in our Constitution, the only one that
reflects the expression of the popular will, there are all the answers for the resolution
of any contingency in the country.
He pointed out that this process also
strengthens the National Electoral Council (CNE). “Because it has been an Electoral Power
that, despite the attacks it suffered, shielded the vote of Venezuelans.
With its sophisticated and unique system in the world, I can guarantee that
despite a
criminal cyber-coup d'etat being carried out, the will of the people was protected by institutions,” he said.
For this reason, he called on all Venezuelans to make every effort now, “to communicate and to truthfully publicize this event, which I insist will be remembered in history as an episode of the highest democratic level and of the highest republicanism.”
