More than 490,000 military officials and officials from various State institutions are deployed throughout the country to ensure that the Venezuelan people can exercise, in peace and quiet, their right to vote on May 25, said the vice-president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Carlos Quintero.
“This deployment includes the members of Operation Republic. We also have officials from the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace; the Ministry of Education; PDVSA personnel and other entities that live in the National Logistics Committee, which is responsible for coordinating all the logistical details to support the structure of more than 700 voting centers and more than 27,700 polling stations,” he stressed.
On the other hand, Quintero stressed that the electoral route is the best way for the people to express themselves in a sovereign manner and settle their differences, so he called on Venezuelans to actively participate in this Sunday's electoral event.
“The table is full, we have worked tirelessly so that on Sunday we have an electoral holiday, an active participation of the people and Venezuelans to strengthen democracy, to continue giving lessons to the world and demonstrating that this is a country that wants to move forward in peace,” he emphasized, while recalling that 569 positions will be chosen for these elections: 285 deputies to the National Assembly, 24 governors and 260 regional legislators.
