This Wednesday, October 22, the
Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed that, in the face of threats and the
blockade, “a spirit of productive union is rising in Venezuela”,
recognizing small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as
entrepreneurs, who have not stopped and have continued to contribute to economic development.
In this regard, during the Expoforo
Empresarial Venezuela Productiva 2030, he highlighted that according to the numbers
of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in
2024, 99.5% of the companies in this Latin American and Caribbean region are
micro, small and medium-sized companies and only 1.5% are large and medium-sized companies.
“The rest are micro and small companies; and
that spirit has been taken by Venezuela through the entrepreneurial economy; we have
already registered almost 2 million users in the Entrepreneur Together Program; 64%
of whom are women,” he said.
He also indicated that through this program, funding has
been provided to 1.3 million people. In addition, he highlighted that
Venezuela is ranked number 10 in the world
entrepreneurship index; and number five in the regional index.
“So the entrepreneurial economy, the communal economy, which is located there in the territory, makes it possible to serve all sectors (...) this represents 60% of employment in our region,” he said and emphasized that in Venezuela a new non-rentier economy is being built, diversified in an economy and democratized.
