The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, said that “we said goodbye to the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria on a special day for its people.”

Through a video posted on his account on the social network Instagram, he stated that “we pay tribute to the freedom fighters who 70 years ago began the revolution that eight years later would mark independence from French colonialism. Long live free Algeria!”

“We pay homage to the fighters for freedom, for independence and to the courageous, worthy people of Algeria, and we pay tribute to them,” he said.

During his visit to Algeria, Rodríguez held an important meeting with the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mining, Mohamed Arkab, to deepen the strategic route of energy cooperation.

In addition, he reviewed common issues as members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the work carried out by the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (FPEG), with the objective of strengthening bilateral relations between Venezuela and Algeria in the oil and gas sectors.
